Pray as if everything depends on God, then work as if everything depends on you!Luke 11:1: Lord, teach us to pray. Luke 18:1: Men ought always to pray, and not to faint. 1 Thessalonians 5:17: Pray without ceasing. Psalms 55:17: Evening and morning, and at noon, will I pray, and cry aloud; and he shall hear my voice. Driving through a small village in Pennsylvania one day these words were seen on a church bulletin board: “Pray for a good harvest, but keep on hoeing!” What an excellent bit of advice! It would be foolish for a farmer to ask the Lord for a good crop but fail to sow the seed. Prayer and work go together. Jesus said, “Pray ye…that he will send forth laborers into His harvest.” Matthew 9:38: Having prayed for His help, don’t forget to do your part!
