In March, my mother, Rev. Doris Hokett, passed away in her sleep at her home in Lagos, Nigeria. We can agree there can never be another person more dedicated to God’s work or more willing to press on with God’s direction no matter the hardship. In April, three memorial services in Africa went over 2 hours each, with local Chiefs, government officials, and church leaders participating with over 1500 total attendees in-person & online for each service. In June, the final memorial service at Faith Assembly of God in Pasadena, Texas, in the Houston area was filled with friends & family covering all 86 years from early childhood in Houston to her last days in Lagos. All four services are on YouTube now if you search for “Doris Hokett Memorial Service” online.

As you may expect, five churches were left incomplete with Rev. Doris Hokett’s passing, and their total remaining costs were $34,550. Your donation has been added with others to total $11,373 – you helped finish two of the churches. Please pray with us for the remaining $23,177 to complete the last three churches.

 Our Mission Field and History:

   Doris Hokett lives in Lagos, Nigeria. Doris and her late husband, Arthur, have faithfully served as missionaries since 1966, living first in Ghana and now in Nigeria. They travel most of the time preaching and teaching in crusades, revivals, seminars, conventions, etc. They have ministered in many countries including Nigeria, Ghana, Togo, Benin, Niger, Burkina Faso, Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Ethiopia, South Sudan, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Malawi, Botswana, South Africa, Swaziland, Mozambique, India, Sri Lanka, Mexico, Haiti, El Salvador, Holland, England, Switzerland, etc. They pray for the sick, and have seen many people healed by the power of Jesus.

  Doris has written fifteen books of miracles, testimonies, and teachings; the last twelve of which have been published in Nigeria. She also sings in their meetings, and has made three cassettes of her songs, plus a recent CD.

  Rev. Arthur E. Hokett went to be with the Lord on August 6, 2011, at the age of seventy-three. He was a faithful man of God, and served in Africa more than 45 years. He was much loved by many thousands of people all over the world, so he is greatly missed by his family and friends. Doris, his wife of nearly 54 years, is continuing with the ministry, traveling, and preaching. She continues to help build many churches in Northern Ghana, and Church Number 62 is the latest one. Many people are giving special offerings to help, in Arthur's memory.

  They have one son, Jeff, who was born in Ghana. He and his wife, Sandra, have three sons, Alex, Spencer, and Richard, and live in the United States.
